Song Hye-kyo, Lee Jin, Han Hye-jin’s Special Bond from High School’s “Ulzzang” Line

Recently, Lee Jin posted a photo of a bouquet she received from Song Hye-kyo on her social media, affirming their over 20-year-long friendship. These three stars are famously known as close friends who have maintained strong bonds from their school days.

Lee Jin and Song Hye-kyo became close in high school through the same club activities.
At that time, Lee Jin was known as an “ulzzang” (a popular South Korean term meaning “best face” or “good-looking”) around the Dogok-dong area, while Song Hye-kyo was a rising star thanks to her role in the sitcom “Sungpung Clinic”. Meanwhile, Han Hye-jin, though a typical high school girl at the time, was known for her natural beauty, earning her the nickname “Hidden Gem.”
Among their peers, it’s said, “Lee Jin was admired for her beauty both inside and outside school, Song Hye-kyo was already recognized in the entertainment world, and Han Hye-jin had a celebrity-like popularity within the school.”
Interestingly, Lee Jin’s entry into Fin.K.L was also linked to this school connection.

Eunkwang alumna Ok Joo-hyun personally approached Lee Jin and suggested she join a girl group. Later, Lee Jin debuted as a member of Fin.K.L and rose to stardom, with both Han Hye-jin and Song Hye-kyo also entering the entertainment world and gaining public admiration in their respective careers.

Han Hye-jin once shared, “I knew about Song Hye-kyo and Lee Jin because they were famous, but I only met them in person after becoming a celebrity,” recounting a story of meeting them by chance at a salon.

The three continue to maintain their enduring friendship today. Song Hye-kyo is set to return with the film “The Priests 2: Dark Nuns” on January 24 next year, while Lee Jin is living a new life with her family in New York.
